The New Australian Collection Sangiovese
Wine
Coriole The New Australian Collection Sangiovese is sourced from the pioneering crop of Sangiovese in Australia, first planted by Coriole in 1985.
Coriole's foresight has paid off: Sangiovese has proven to be ideally suited to the maritime climate of McLaren Vale. The wine is a blend of various clones and rootstocks from a number of estate blocks.
The fruit is fermented in hand plunged open tanks. For maturation the wine is transferred to seasoned oak barrels, allowing it to develop to maturity with minimum contribution of oak flavour.
Dark crimson, Coriole The New Australian Collection Sangiovese is medium bodied with ripe red fruits, earthy characters and fine yet firm tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
